Assessments
Standardised and functional assessments across speech pathology and occupational therapy, each with a clear written report.
What we assess
- Speech and language — sounds, understanding, expression, social communication, literacy
- Fluency, voice and swallowing
- Fine motor, handwriting, self-care and sensory processing
- Functional capacity, daily living and support needs (for NDIS planning)
- Home safety and access, and assistive technology needs
How an assessment works
Depending on the question, we use standardised tests, checklists, observation of real tasks, and information from you and (with consent) others who know the person well — a teacher, GP or support worker. Most assessments take one to two appointments plus report-writing time.
The report
You receive a written report in plain language: what we found, what it means, and clear recommendations — goals, whether therapy is indicated, and any funding or school documentation it supports. We are happy to talk it through with you.
Common Questions
Still not sure? Call the clinic on 0493 719 759 and we'll talk it through.
Do I need a referral for an assessment?
No referral is needed to book privately. A referral is required for a Medicare rebate, and existing reports from other professionals are always useful.
How much does an assessment cost?
Assessments are quoted individually because they vary in length. Ask for a current quote when you call, or see the fees and funding page.
