Speech Therapy

Our certified practising speech pathologists support clients from around 9 months to 90+ years — in clinic, at kindy or school, or over telehealth.

What speech therapy can help with

We assess and support communication and swallowing across the lifespan. Common reasons families and adults come to us include:

  • A late talker who has fewer words than expected for their age
  • Speech sounds that are hard to understand
  • Stuttering and fluency
  • Understanding and using language, including at school
  • Reading, spelling and written expression
  • Voice changes and vocal fatigue
  • Swallowing difficulties (dysphagia)

How we work

Sessions are play-based for younger children and goal-based for older children and adults. We coach the people around the client — parents, carers and educators — so progress carries into everyday life. Where it helps, our speech pathologists and occupational therapists plan together under one roof.

Assessment first

Every client starts with a phone consultation, and an in-person assessment where one is needed. From there we write an intervention plan with clear goals and a review point, so you always know what we are working on and why.

Common Questions

Still not sure? Call the clinic on 0493 719 759 and we'll talk it through.

How young is too young for speech therapy?

We see children from around 9 months. Early support is usually shorter and simpler than waiting to see whether a delay resolves on its own.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to book privately. A referral is required for Medicare-funded sessions and is useful for NDIS planning.

Can sessions happen at kindy or school?

Often, yes. We visit early learning centres and schools across greater Brisbane and hand strategies to educators.
